Daniela De Pasquale is partner and co-founder of D&P – Legal Support for Ideas. She started her carrier practising civil and commercial law in preeminent international law firms in Milan and then made some professional experiences abroad, first with a stage at the European Commission (1996) in Brussels and subsequently as a visiting lawyer at Salans Herzfeld Heilbronn in Paris. She then attended the WIPO Specialisation Course on Intellectual Property, in co-operation with the University of Turin (2000) and since then she is devoted to IPRs and Technology Law.
First as an associate with Gianni Origoni Grippo in Milan and, since 2004, as a partner of LaScala (an Italian Law Firm in association with a European Law Firm) where she built in and developed the IP/TMT practice.

On June 2012 she founded together with Massimiliano Pappalardo a boutique law firm, entirely devoted to Intellectual Property, Media and Technology Law: “D&P – Legal Support for Ideas”.
Daniela combines the solution oriented approach of International Law Firms, where the IPRs and Technology Law support other practices such as corporate and M&A, with an in depth knowledge of the subject matter, thanks to frequent publications on specialised Law Reviews and magazines, lecturing activity with Universities, private educational institutions and business schools membership to the main international professional associations.

She assists clients in both transactional and litigation aspects of Intellectual Property Rights as well as Information Technology and e-commerce related issues.
She has outstanding expertise in connection with the management, exploitation and protection of Intellectual Property assets and Know-How and the legal support to Research & Development activity in many industry sectors.
She advises on Patents and Trademarks (including use of Made in Italy indication of origin), Designs, Copyright, Unfair Competition and Advertising Law. Such expertise is combined with an extensive knowledge of Information Technology related issues and Data Protection which represent a significant part of her daily practice. Over the years she has acquired a specific expertise in the interplay between the legal aspects of IPR’s and Technology in the digital environment and new media sector.
Daniela is admitted to practice in Italy and member of the Bar of Milan. She is an active member of the Technology Committee of the International Bar Association, of AIPPI and iTech Law.

Massimiliano Pappalardo is founding partner of D&P – Legal Support for Ideas. He is a lawyer admitted to the Italian Bar in 1999 (Court of Appeal of Milan), with a deep experience and expertise in Intellectual Property, New Technologies and Data Protection law. In such areas of practice, Massimiliano advises on a regular basis in favour of national and international companies.
In addition, Massimiliano has a 17 years’ experience in litigation, particularly focused in the field of trademarks, designs and patents, unfair competition and consumers’ law. Likewise he has reached a considerable expertise in drafting and negotiating international commercial contracts, including IT contracts and license, distribution and franchising agreements. His daily practice involves as well the implementation and localization in Italy of data protection projects related to several industries.

Massimiliano was granted a Master degree in New Technology and Computer sciences law (2001) and has deep academic background in Information Technology.
He has been tutor at Insubria University (course of Information Technology law and computer sciences law).
Massimiliano frequently lectures on IP, IT and Data Protection matters; from the edition 2010, he has been invited to speak on the protection of the intangibles in the “Luxury Management” session of the International MBA, organized by MIP – Politecnico di Milano – School of Management. He contributed as well to the Master in Intellectual Property Law, organized by “Il Sole 24 Ore” business school.

He frequently writes on the above mentioned issues for Italian and international newspapers and law journals, including Il Sole 24 Ore, Il Corriere delle Comunicazioni, Data protection law and policy.
He is author of the chapter related to the legal framework in Italy of the global handbook “International Design Protection” (Globe Business Publishing Ltd, 2012) and of other publications.
